I'm building an ASP.NET control for CC info, and basing it on one here on CP ( I'm doing my own for a couple of reasons, mostly to learn how ). The article claims there is such a thing as a 13 digit VISA, but I've never seen one. If anyone has one, could you LMK to confirm this ? Also, any Aussies who have a Bankcard, please LMK how many digits, because I have found no info on them yet. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002

Again, you can screw up a C/C++ program just as easily as a VB program. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

I rememeber something about then a few years back, maybe they have been filtered out to allow for a bigger range... OTOH I cant even use my CC online... :( Damn incompetant banks  WebBoxes - Yet another collapsable control, but it relies on a "graphics server" for dynamic pretty rounded corners, cool arrows and unlimited font support.

Yes, VISA supports both 13-digits and 16-digits credit card numbers. Both types of numbers must begin with "4". Here's a brief overview: 13 digits - VISA (begins with "4") 14 digits - Diners Clubs (begins with "300"-"305" or "36") 14 digits - Carte Blanche (begins with "38") 15 digits - JCB (begins with "1800" or "2131") 15 digits - Enroute (begins with "2014" or "2149") 15 digits - American Express (begins with "34" or "37") 16 digits - JCB (begins with "3") 16 digits - VISA (begins with "4") 16 digits - Master Card (begins with "51"-"55") 16 digits - Discover (begins with "6011") Вагиф Абилов MCP (Visual C++) Oslo, Norway Hex is for sissies. Real men use binary. And the most hardcore types use only zeros - uppercase zeros and lowercase zeros. Tomasz Sowinski

Drag and drop this link [clickety](javascript:window.location.href=(document.selection.createRange().text)) (Donot click on the link) on the links bar in IE. In future when you want clickety support just highlight text and click on the link in the links bar and you will have clickety support without the clickety police. The mistakes made in this API make me realise that Microsoft has become big enough that it can shelter morons. If anyone working for me wrote anything this bad and tried to release it, I would kill them and display the body as a warning to the rest of the team. - Christian Graus about C# - GDI+
