DNS propagation > 72 hours

Has anyone else here experienced a DNS propagation delay greater than 72 hours? Thanks. My personal website moved servers and got a new IP address, but after 70 hours or so, the DNS servers haven't updated yet (I checked multiple DNS servers). :~

They moved ahead and switched to a managed code base. Unfortunately for you, void pointers aren't supported any longer. :)

No. It has always happened very quickly for me.

That all depends on how the SOA record is configured. Servers will cache the DNS records for as little or as much time as it is instructed to hold it for. Well.. properly configured servers will, it's anybody's guess for the misconfigured servers out there. Edit: To check your SOA record with nslookup.exe, run the following:
C:\>nslookup -type=soa domain.com
It should return the SOA in a human-readable format for you.
Thank you. I checked using www.whatsmydns.net[^] and it seems some DNS servers have got the new IP, and some haven't. I just need to wait more I guess.

I've had it take up to 4 days to settle down, but sporadic 'hits' usually appear within 2 days. What domain did you move; I'll test it periodically from here. If we can reach it, anyone can. :sigh:

Thanks Roger. I used www.whatsmydns.net[^] and it seems half the servers have picked up the new IP, and the other half haven't. I'll wait a little longer I guess.

Nahhh... I checked that one; nothing there but a VBScript virus.

 It's www.voidnish.com[^] You should see the new text based website (instead of the older one with the reddish MVP logo on the top-left).

So do you see the new website? The old site is kinda similar.

FWIW: I have no trouble reaching your site, nor has this[^]. If problems persist I'd suggest you publish your IP address for now (e.g. on the CP member page). :)

The site will be up. Just that it will show the old site (instead of the new one). I think it'll take another 24 hours to be complete.

I don't see anything reddish. In fact it is all black and gray on white and blue, a bit boring if you ask me (which you won't). I also don't see any date information, other than Visual Studio 2010 being mentioned. :)

Now that you and probably everyone can see it, you can improve, grow, and expand it, and work on all the feedback this thread is bound to be going to offer you... :)

Yes; at least, there's no logo on the left.

Well not really. I thinned down the site, now the blog section is hosted elsewhere (I just fetch the latest using RSS), and same for articles (hosted only on CP). I won't be changing the site much I think for a few years.
