But did it have dozens of CGI apes? :)

No! Now they look a bit naff but it still works. Was amazing when it first came out and people still thought Heston could act. :-)

It was okay. The first with Charlton Heston is still by far and away the best. The book is not too bad either though a little diferent - same bloke that wrote Bridge over the River Kwai.

omg... the bridge over the river kwai is screened almost every year on new years day or summing here in South Africa... *dies*... Don't get me wrong, it was definitely a good movie, but there's only so many times you can flog a dead horse :|

There were some errors in the story line, but overall I enjoyed the movie. Really made up for the 50 cent abomination I watched a few days ago. Anyone else here watched/enjoyed it?

        Regards, Nish

Watched it a couple of weeks ago, and I really enjoyed it. I think only once did my brain go "that ape isn't really there". The movie is quite an amazing technological feat, and as a bonus, I found it very enjoyable to watch.

I just watched it last weekend for the first time. I liked it. Wasn't the best, wasn't the worst.

          I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

Michael O'Leary is reputed to be funding a remake of that. The working title is Bridge over the River Lea though so I shouldn't get too excited.

Same over here with first, African Queen and then when they realized that was becoming a little stale, The Great Escape. That ended a couple of years ago and I have yet to spot the replacement.
