Can whomever it was that downvoted my post below (about the cow) please explain why? You are, of course, perfectly entitled to do so but I'd just love to know what it was I said that upset you. Thanks.

Maybe the solution lies in empowering *yourself* to avoid being upset/insulted by simply ignoring every little freakin microdetail about your online reputation? Why do people invest so much self-esteem in what anonymous nobodies on the internet think of them?

It really isn't about the points or the rep (utterly meaningless) - I've posted before on this subject and really don't care about the points. I am, however, genuinely curious as to what goes on in people's minds to cause them to downvote (usually) innocent posts. I was hoping that, for once, the person would have the courage to reveal themselves and the reason - after all, what can I do anyway? Downvote them for having an opinion? Hardly.

Although in this case I don't think he cared about the reputation, you are right in that some people on here are way too concerned about it.

Being curious about downvoting is a step toward leaving CodeProject...

No, been here way too long to let it bother me. Points, after all, do not make prizes. :-)

It is far more likely that it was one of the carrion-sucking carnivores, in their continuing [and fruitless] attempts to discredit vegetarians and vegans. I've found them to be the verbal aggressors in essentially all instances. We vegetarians, you see, understand that the show-off carnivores are best handled in a manner similar to how one handles flies. You can shoo them off the lumps but they always come back. They, too, don't know any better. As an aside, PETA sucks:  not because of their message but because of their arrogance.

Welcome to Mallu-Hinduism. Mallus are people from the state of Kerala, India. Mallu-Hindus are rather heavy meat eaters :-)
