The Real Windows 8 Logo

Most BSODs are because of device driver bugs. It's long time ago since I had one.
You do realize you are tempting fate by just saying that? :-D

Hmm. I think a lot of folks have gone computing in the wrong places. The only time I've had a BSOD since Windows 2000 was when I was testing a new device driver for some custom hardware we'd developed.

I did wonder how long it would take for someone to mock that up :)

So why does it only happen when I press the "Save" button in your application?

The wait cursor animation is probably overheating your graphics card.

Ha-ha! Nice joke :) But Win8 will die not because of BSOD. It will be dead-born child with smartphone as a gravestone. MS with shi**y mobile OS killed themselves. Now it's TOO late even to run behind Apple. Ugly Win8 cannot refresh a situation, so... I don't envy MS in 2012, it will be real "end of the world" for 'em.

I think the real humor comes from the fact that Microsoft actually paid a design firm to help them come up with the logo.

If the Windows 'flag logo' was internal, good for then for paying someone to do the 8 logo. To me it demonstrates at least some though went into it, not just Windows devs going mad on an all night coke binge.

The person who designed the GAP logo, the 12-year old retarded child, must have designed this one. The OS is so good in beta on my tablet, that I can't wait to see what the final version is. This logo is far from good, though. But the BSOD in Win8 is a :( Your PC ran into a problem that it couldn't handle, and now it needs to restart. Even so, I'm not buying Windows 8 for the logo although I seriously hope they hire a graphics artist to design a new one.

I used to work with someone who's attitude was that if the program crashed, it was the user's fault. I didn't subscribe to that notion and when I was QA'ing his code, I delighted in seeing how fast I could crash his programs (sometimes in only 15 seconds). I'd give him an exact set of steps to follow that would lead to the crash and would say, "See me again when this no longer crashes the program." He decided to seek greener pastures since he saw how I wasn't going to let his crap code go public and he couldn't BS me on why it couldn't be made to work correctly.

I love it So Win 8 will need multiple windows to display all the BSODs

Yes, but at least those they were more creative :) Since Win8 is probably Ballmer's first completely independently done OS, it leaves one to wonder if the Win8 logo is just an indication of the amount of creativity and vision that we'll start to see throughout all of Mircosoft's product offerings.
We can program with only 1's, but if all you've got are zeros, you've got nothing.

Maybe I've just been drinking MS cool aid too long, but I see it as, This is Windows 8. This is an identity, not an advertisement. Step inside to see enjoy something real, solid, not an image.

Actually, they now tend to be hardware problems. I just had this happen to me on Friday and it turned out two sticks of memory I bought six months ago went bad.
