Well I know I am. I was just hoping that we had other people who were foolishadventurous enough to be guinea pigs. According to some of my sources, most of the applications are written in HTML/JS. So far, the only one I could find that wasn't is the mapping app which is XAML with D3D.

There was a time when the Lounge would have been full of posts about who has installed the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, what they thought of it, why some think it's great and others think it's completely elephanted. Yet as I survey the landscape of the lounge, nada.

Either (i) people are waiting for the weekend to give it a thrash or (ii) they're assuming it'll be like the Windows 7 preview[^]

Maybe we are all too busy swooning with pleasure! It's definitily good fun, and I'm enjoying creating some mickey mouse metro apps just for fun. Looks a winner to me, but possibly that will not be the united view of the geeks on here!

Too busy with otherstuff, I tried the preview you it's cool but I'll have to get a touch screen PC yo make real use out the OS. I wouldn't move from Win7 to Win8 at work because I can't see any real benefits.

It could be an exciting product. Depending on how it's received, it's either going to help revive MS or kill it off.

My guess is that most of us are waiting for the weekend. I was hoping the tablet I got at build :-D would magically update itself on it's own. I've given up on that dream, and will try to find some time to get the consumer preview and VS11 Beta installed this weekend.

It's pretty awesome. Of course it still has some warts, but I'm looking forward to seeing it get polished. I really look forward to using it on a touchscreen device.

Downloaded the preview and the VS 11 beta. Got a week and a half vacation starting next week, so I'll likely be hip-deep in it for at least a few days, heh. Flynn
