Poker is an excellent game! A bunch of mates and a few beers makes for a great night.

I was always a brag man myself. Spent many a night playing until the sun came up way back when.

Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

We mostly played Bastard Brag at Uni, for no money. It was 3, 4, mostly 6, or 7 card brag I got into shortly afterwards. Playing for hours and winning or losing up to about a hundred a night on various occasions. A mate of mine got into playing above certain pubs in Derby and thousands would change hands of a night.

I never played that rich. £20 or so was the most we went in for.

After the October Hurricane we had no power for a week. Since my local had Tilley lamps, and all I had was a single candle (shaped like a snowman) I spent the week in the bar. (That is my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!) During this week, I played a lot of 3 card brag. A drunken landlord with access to the till and a predilection to going £20 blind against three of a kind made it a happy place to be. The only week of my life where I have staggered out of a pub blind drunk and a couple of hundred quid up on the deal, every single night for a week. And I wasn't the only one. He did wonder what had happened to his takings for the month though... :-D

Why is playing poker like taking a crap? Because a Full House beats a Flush!

Try playing ulti[^]. You need three players and it is very simple if you just play on tricks.
