I'm working on a Simulation an Quotation Engine for an insurance company. We use Java, XML, scripting, ... for this.

This lot keeps me busy: Public Display information Service codenamed 'Indigo' - www.fswalkerhughes.com/Products.htm Tchnologies used: MFC, Winsock, ADO, ATL, GDI(+). [Server] Uses TCP/IP Server with redundency, core uses IOCP. [Client] Client (information displays), displays many types of page formats: Custom, Web, Movie, Advertisement, Clock and using a lot of GDI, I now supporting GDI+ (found a few bugs in the beta). [Extras] The studio uses MFC Doc/View to design pages, the studio has a VB style interface. This also a security module and auditing module. [Database] The database is ORACLE, we use ADO for the interface layer to the database.

Telephone application for the iPaq with Outlook integration (for ActiveSync) and a Simcard utility for the PocketPC using IR, Serial or PC Card to connect to the phone/sim card.

Not cool really, but I'm working on a Holiday Call Centre system. Converting a Fox Pro version into a HTML version. Currently trying to get their existing java servlets to talk to my asp code on IIS. (Not nice and not clever) I'm pushing as hard as I can to get them to move over to .NET (as I want to work with some cool toys for once :-) )

I'm working on our Pharos subsea Acoustic Tracking and Navigation application (MFC) - the first public release of which should be on July 13th. In my spare time I'm working on the Resource ID Organiser Add-In for Visual C++ 5.0/6.0, and doing some help file authoring for asynchrony.com. At work I'm trying to figure out how all the new stuff in VS.NET Beta 2 is working. At home, I'm developing some Template Based classes, that wraps IO CompletionPorts, we (me and a friend) can use for our opcomming (socket) server products :) - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"

James I wrote the baggage software that communicates with the sortation machines at Manchester. The orginal software was developed in VB, needless to say to was well written and performed like a dog. I rewrote the software in VC++, runs like a dream now. We're also developing a FIDS system for software well known airports look us up on www.fswalkerhughes.com Regards Norm

Well, I'm based about 5 miles from Manchester Airport and as yet we have done absolutely nothing there although I'm about to assist on a quote for Terminal 2. You're lucky to get FIDS work - I'd love to do that as we mostly do the low level comms/controls software and never get chance to do the pretty graphics stuff :)

I feel your pain brother. I have to rewrite a perfectly good ASP/COM application in Java 2 and Oracle. And I've been forced to learn Java for the last 2 months. :(( :mad: X| p.s. Java Sucks Jason Gerard
