Just found this[^] question and thought that the OP is trying to create some kind of spyware... This isn't the first time that I see people asking those type of questions... (example: here[^] What do you think about those types of questions? as there any use that doesn't involve hacking?

I'm brazilian and english (well, human languages in general) aren't my best skill, so, sorry by my english. (if you want we can speak in C# or VB.Net =p)

There doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary there, so far as I can see. This is a fairly common requirement. Also The Lounge is not the place to report this type of thing. You should do so in the Site Bugs and Suggestions[^] forum which is monitored more often by the site admins.

Henry Minute Girl: (staring) "Why do you need an icy cucumber?" “I want to report a fraud. The government is lying to us all.” I wouldn't let CG touch my Abacus! When you're wrestling a gorilla, you don't stop when you're tired, you stop when the gorilla is. Cogito ergo thumb - Sucking my thumb helps me to think.

Brief and to the point! Considering that last part it's probably a good job you were wearing those briefs.

I'm not reporting (or accusing) anyone, I only would like to see a real world scenario, that doesn't involve hacking, where this type of thing is necessary. I'm a curious by nature, and this kind of things interest me ;)

We do get some questions which are virus writing requests, yes. But generally the kinds of idiots who need that kind of help and are stupid enough to ask for it on a site run by and for computer professionals ask outright, rather than being subtle.

You mean like asking on one site how they can learn how to hack and then join a programming site to learn how to program first?

Yeah, I've been seeing things like requests for hacks to Counter Strike... OK, I admit that this knowledge can be useful in the real world, but i can't understand what they're thinking when they ask those things here... Also, I think the name of the site lure some people who want their homework done without effort into asking for code... Here where I live, we blame "digital inclusion" for this.

They want to learn to program? Wow! I thought they wanted us to write it for them... :-D

Thank you for raising this question. As a result of the links given by other respondents I've saved myself time researching and now know how to hook the window change event so I can write a time logger for my own personal use so I can see how much time I spend each day in which applications. This will be used both for customer billing purposes (I bill by the hour for multiple concurrent clients, and it's a major hassle recording how much time each day I spend on what task) and also to see just how much time I spend being non-productive - like reading Code Project lounge posts! Cheers, Derek TP

No, thank you sir, for giving a real world use for this. I was thinking of some type of automation, but can't think of any real use... :-D
