I just read an article about a "recently discovered" trojan-virus called "Flame". It seems to be a very good developed piece. Karpersky says they needed about 6 months to analyze "Stuxnet" and it seems the new one is about 20 times harder. At the moment the biggest infection is in the middle east, but they are afraid it will expand worldwide. It seems it has more than 20 Mb tool-kit apps spreading around the whole operative system, capable to activate microfon and record sounds, make bitmaps depending on opened software or visited webs, compress files, encrypt and even make a tiny virtual enviroment. Lets see when will it be "desinfectable" and what's the next coming up. Edit: Sorry about missing clicketies. I just made a quick search in google, at the moment I only find results on german newspapers.

Regards. -------- M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpfull answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Well at least its nice enough to clean up after itself if you aren't interesting enough. But that seems like it could be the key to removing it, fake the delete signal and it cleans itself up.

Then again, it sounds like the usual methods may not be working, so easy probably isn't an option. (Not that I really know much about the subject, just sounds like it could be an exploitable flaw.)

:omg: OK, wow. That sure seems to be a professionally made piece of malware. I hope someone finds a way to stop it. Although, Stuxnet apparently targeted the centrifuges that Iran used in their nuclear program, I wonder if 'Flame' is some kind of evolution of that. Hmmmmmmm.... What do you guys think? Almost certainly US or Israeli state sponsored, considering the level of professionalism and the countries that have been infected. Don't complain when similar weapons are developed and used against your systems.

It seems it has more than 20 Mb tool-kit apps spreading around the whole operative system, capable to activate microfon and record sounds, make bitmaps depending on opened software or visited webs, compress files, encrypt and even make a tiny virtual enviroment.

This one is at the moment in the middle east as well, but I don't think it is going to stay only there. The only "nice" thing is the comment of Lewax "if you are not interesting enough, it deletes itself from the system". I hope it is and remains so.

Then again, it sounds like the usual methods may not be working, so easy probably isn't an option. (Not that I really know much about the subject, just sounds like it could be an exploitable flaw.)

I just stay on your "if you are not interesting enough, it deletes itself". This is my best weapon against it ;P
