Hello, the CPians around the world.;) I'm wondering that if I publish the sample web site which I downloaded from MSDN Magazine or Wrox book at my company site, is this illegal? In fact, I will not get any money from this, but I want my potential cusomter to show what a excellent technology ASP.NET is. Furthermore, I updated the C# code of ASP.NET to improve the functionality of the shoppong cart something like that. One site is Professional ASP.NET Web Forms Techniques - Wrox Car Company. The other one is DataNavigator control of Northwind GUI from MSDN Magaizne. Does anyone has some idea about this? Please, don't send me your email about your programming questions directly. However, if you believe that you gives me some benefits, you can send me your email. Have a nice day! Technically, yes. But if you're promoting the MS cause, I doubt that you'll get any flack. Nobody wants to read a diary by someone who has not seen the shadow of Bubba on the prison shower wall in front of them!

We went up against a huge company for a local intranet project. The client requested a proto-type of our technologies (CMS) so they could guage who should get the project. The other company used the Microsoft IBuySpy portal sample with some of their own modifications. We built a proto-type from scratch (but in ASP.NET.) We won based on that. Woot! As for your question I am not sure about the legalities but MS did help the other company and recommended they use the IBuySpy portal as their prototype, so it must be ok.

The IBuySpy portal isn't bad - it allows you to just work on a small piece of functionality without worrying about the whole framework - which is ideal for beginning to learn ASP.NET. I use it for 3 websites where I have users who are not HTMLified and yet need to edit content for their site - since I control the code and it is all content driven - they can only mess up the content but the app keeps in ticking - purrfect

Technically speaking the dictionary would define Visual Basic users as programmers.
But here again, a very generalized, liberal definition is being employed and it's wrong
