      There were days when Winamp was a must have. But today I hardly find it being discussed anywhere. I personally use MediaMonkey. What player are you guys using?

      Almost 8 years back: It was a fine evening, everything was fine and someone told me to copy a CD for him. I did it for him and found a small thing called VLC on that. saved it for myself too and then never looked back (to winamp). Almost 5 years back: My client told me to make a small change in VLC player to incorporate QoS parameter in the video streaming. I started looking into code and it took me a week to get my version with required changed up and running. This made things personal. I saw the code and made some changes. now using VLC is like a personal matter to me. I don't go elsewhere but VLC only. P.S. I use mediaportal when i need lean back experience and VLC when i need lean forward experience.

        I use VLC. Maybe AOL killed Winamp, as anything else they have been in touch of.

            I find there is no need to use a music player on the computer. More of a hassle than convenience. If I want to listen to music I use my phone. It is always with me and I can get up and still have my music. I tend to use Slacker Radio but occasianlly load up Pandora.

            Computers have been intelligent for a long time now. It just so happens that the program writers are about as effective as a room full of monkeys trying to crank out a copy of Hamlet.

                QMP or VLC, depending on which machine I'm on. Anything with more than three letters in its name is just too much trouble.

                  I mostly use Pandora these days, but still keep this mp3 player up to date: 1by1 It doesn't require playlists; looks like Windows Explorer - point to a folder and hit play.

                                  Artists barely see any of that money, if you want to artist to get paid, go to a concert, that's where they make most of their money. (I do buy CDs however, because I can put the music on any player I want, at any quality I want, without DRM.)

                                        To bad those artist only get a very small percentage of that money. I buy mostly for the artwork and the reasons mentioned by lewax. I do, however, refuse to pay 20 euro's for any music cd. I wait until they get cheaper (say <= 10 euro's) or I buy second hand :D I only pay the full new price for very few artists that I REALLY like (Underworld, Summoning, The Devil's Blood, Urfaust...) :)

                                          Winamp! It really kicks the lama's ass! (I believe it was)... It has its flaws, but I can't find anything better. Although I haven't really looked beyond the obvious (WMP, iTunes, Foobar...). All I can do is safely say Winamp is A LOT better than the three I just mentioned :) I'm looking at MediaMonkey right now and it looks promising. Going to try it out! :thumbsup:

                                          It's an OO world.

                                          public class Naerling : Lazy<Person>{
                                          public void DoWork(){ throw new NotImplementedException(); }
                                          }
