I keep getting these ads for Testosterone boosting supplements. The boosted Testosterone is supposed to enhance my performance. The ads are a bit vague so it's unclear to me how Testosterone is supposed to cause me to be a better programmer. The lack of information leaves me with more questions than answers. For example, what is the implication of this for women programmers? I'm baffled.

They follow up after six months of testosterone supplement sales with baldness remedies. It's known as proactive remedy marketing -- it's like building an app with predefined and pre-planned bugs, to keep the maintenance revenues flowing.

What I hate is that I'm going bald with next to no Testosterone. It's just not fair.

If you spend a lot of time reading these adds, I honestly don't see how this is going to happen. ;P

From experience, the female coders I've known didn't need any [more] testosterone to do that.

It turns you into a brogrammer.

Testosterone supplements are simply the male version of HRT. When blokes get older, the amount of testosterone produced drops. Testosterone is responsible for a whole range of things including alertness and resilience to stress factors. It's banned in most sports as a PED unless you've got an exemption, so it is definitely associated with performance enhancement. There are perfectly natural ways to influence your own testosterone production using diet and exercise. It's also beneficial to women as they also have T in their systems, albeit far less. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testosterone[^]

You could do the pre-workout supplements from GNC or a similar store. They are just a little drink, like coolaid powder. Until you get used to them, it'll be about the same affect.
