So, here in India I watched the match till 3 AM in the morning.. and I felt it was worth of it. Flet that the match was mostly one sided .. In the first half both teams were ferocious, aggressive, and trying hard to nail the ball in other court... and Spain were on top of their game which earned them 2 goals. In the second half Italy simply gave up, there was not even temperment among the players to score a goal.... The two goals by spain the second half were effortless and looked very simple.. Spain was impervious with their formidable defense.. and they deserved to Win.. Kudos.. Few tweets were like this.. -> Italy should get their own ball, if they are playing Spain next time. -> Even Torres scored a goal. etc.. etc.. So, what is your take on this..

Noticed that lately there was more soccer on the telly than usual - so finding anything worth watching was harder than usual. If I'm to watch a sporting event, I'm more likely to watch something like this[^]

Is EURO2012 the amount that the high-school drop-outs got paid per second?

I think Spain are one or two players short of being a good team. I mean can you imagine what they would be like with a James Milner firing in crosses 20 feet over the bar. Or a John Terry blindly hoofing the Ball upfield? Also they wasn't very good at passing to the Italy Goalkeeper. If you watched the ENG V ITA game you would have seen a masterclass in passing the ball precisely into his hands, whereas Spain kept hitting it either side of him.

Glenn Johnson and Stevie G made Garth Crooks' team of the tournament. But then he's an idiot.

Stevie G did play well in a couple of games and blind patriotism could merit giving him a place but Glenn Johnson??? P.S. I remember you pointing out that Hansen had only picked three teams in this piece.[^] It now looks like he has picked the Fourth, and surprise surprise he got it right(as anyone would with Hindsight) and picked Portugal as his fourth team. Whats interesting though is he has Germany, Netherlands and Portugal in his top 4 even though they were all in the same group so only two could qualify.

The thing about Johnson is that people who know nothing about defending see him making these brilliant last ditch tackles and think he is good whereas the truth is he is only having to make those tackles because he has got himself out of position or wrong side of the man or given the ball away in the first place. He was also at best partly responsible for almost every goal England concede.
