    Ahem. Guy walks into a butchers, notices that the butcher is a fairly small bloke and would struggle to reach the top display shelves. Says to the butcher - 'Bet you a tenner that you can't reach that meat on the top shelve' and the butcher says 'Nah mate, the steaks are too high'.

        When you've heard one, you've heard them all. I prefer a little variety in my humour. Something unpredictable tends to be funnier, I feel.

                          It's from the Old English "sceaphierde", or a "guard of sheep". However the language changes as you know: are you suggesting that Public Servants do their work publicly, or that they act like our servants rather than masters? :)
