It was the video at the bottom of the article that caught me - about half way through, the expert meant something completely different but states "Their main diet is nuts..." link [^]

I call media-hype. First off, if you're wearing a suit I don't see where any fish is going to be grabbing teh baggage. So the first problem is that the fishermen who lost their baggage were probably nekkid. Secondly, a fish isn't going to approach you if your moving around. Third, my guess is the fishermen got their baggage ripped off in a fight or a tree limb or something and they're blaming a fish because they were up to no good. What a load of carp.

Actually I am surprised it is called a Pacu. Most word are onomatopoeic in that the word represents the event in sound, such a 'bang' and 'thud', so I would have expected this fish to be called (in their local language) 'OwwShitThatGodamnedFIshAteMyBallsOff! or some such. :)
