What's wrong with a proportional font? I've taken to doing that. If you want fixed alignment for things (which is quite rare) you can use tabs, and it's a lot prettier.

A couple of questions:

The hardware engineer has a home office? Now, that's cool! :cool:
Some email clients (like Thunderbird) allow you to set per-user incoming mail preferences. Maybe you could set his prefs to "View mail as plain text"?

While I do know a hardware engineer who has an office in his home, that isn't the case here. The guy I'm talking about in this post is from the Home Office, if you know what I mean. Unfortunately, the e-mail client in this case is Lotus Notes. They include all sorts of buttons and knobs, but I'm afraid they're all tied to the "boot SkyNet" module.
