Integrated graphics are just for watching HD video and application hardware acceleration. and Laptop is certainly not suitable for gaming, even Alienware laptop is a big lie. You need custom build gaming desktop with proper graphics card if you want to play serious games. By the way, what is PES 2011[^]?

Yeah ,but with a chip like nVidia and Core™2Duo cpu you can play middle settings games .. shame that mine doesn't have nVidia replacement card .. :sigh:

It's not about nVidia or ATI. Just that laptop GPUs are such a lie. They're at least 2-3 times slower than their desktop counterparts. Just get a desktop for playing games. Seriously.

        All the best, Dan

Hello every one ! :-D A week earlier I bought a new laptop with an Intel HD graphics card ,After installing the MS Visual studio and every thing for programming from tiny tools to huge ones ,and right after my first day programming in my new machine .. I decided to take a break and have some fun playing PES 2011 ... :sigh: :sigh: :sigh: :sigh: It's not working ...!! woahhtttt . doing some research figuring out the problem is my Intel HD chip is not for gaming .. So Core i5 with 6GB Ram and ATI radeon 1GB DDR5 is just not enough to play simple games... I'm so disappointed... and the company says they can't just replace my graphics card .. Any suggestion guys,,, well programmers have to game too .. Right?.. :sigh: :~

Vmware workstation 9 says it can be used to play games and use 3D apps... Maybe you could try it...

That's a very interesting comment, Joan, and I am very impressed by the specs of VmWare 9. But, in the case of a notebook where the fundamental hardware cannot handle games like the user wants to play, could using VmWare 9 change anything: I am inferring, perhaps incorrectly, that you mean the user could user VmWare to remotely use some other machine with more capable hardware ? Just curious, thanks, Bill

Time ago VMWare was not capable to use 3D graphics even if you had a powerful video card, then they used a software emulation to get 3D softwares running. The computer the OP told us he is using is a powerful computer with lots of RAM and with an i5 processor. Who knows if under the VMWare would this run. I mean: they (vmware) allow you to add and reduce hard disk space in a breeze, they simulated a video card using the processor... it seems they are capable to "redirect" the way the hardware is used to get the job done... At the very end I don't have any idea if this would work or not... But could be interesting to try it. :~

When you say not working, do you mean it's skipping frames and hence the game is unplayable? Or does it show you some error message that this game doesn't support your card?
