He is Spanish - the thousands and decimal separator are reversed. 1,2324.56 in English becomes 1.234,56 in Spanish locale numbering. (I was very tempted to say "He's from Barcelona"...) [edit]"Spanish", not "spannish"[/edit]

Yes but why spend 30-60% more for a same product( talking about same or sometimes even better specifications and functionality) just because there's a biten apple on the box/product?

I am ready to be persecuted, hanged, stoned to death or skinned alive if it causes Apple to go bankrupt. Until then, I will happily bear the Wrath of the Univoter for my post And also, let's not forget that there are other people, not only followers and Arthur. Now, there's all the Apple haters here too (off the top of my head, PO'H comes to mind)

It's a lot more complex than that. There's brand awareness to take into account, availability of Apps (one of Androids biggest problems is the lack of a central app store in my opinion; well, that and the fact that early versions were prone to crashing). Plus, Apple products appear to be innovators to the consumer. Given the simplicity and perceived reliability of Apple products, and it's easy to see why it's such a success. The iPhone is the phone you give to someone non technical when they just want something that works.

Hi everyone, i've just been back from vacation (3 weeks disconnect from everything, no news no i-net no nothing...awesome) when i came back i saw that apple won the lawsuit against Samsung and Samsung has to pay the ammount of 1.000 millione US$ due to patent infringement? WTF? I ,personally owning the S3 which appel would love to ban from the market, (sincerly i hope they don't succeed, s3 is so much better then iphone) am worried how far apple will go to preserve their idea to get the monopoly on smartphones. Other question that bargles occupies my mind is why is apple so successfull? to much fanboys? or people with to much money? Discuss!

Easy: Way back in the day the average user had two choices: IBM/Clone + MS or Apple. Other than the OS, MS focussed more or less on business apps (Word, Excel etc) and still dominate in this market now. Apple's main selling point was it was very good at DTP*, it had a WYSIWYG (not an initialisation that is needed anymore) interface way before MS. This meant the media-types used Mac over MS. Whenever the mediaists tried to use Windows stuff like double-clicking was hard for their little brains, so they stuck with Mac claiming MS was too hard (two buttons, WTF!). Naturally MS overtook Apple (more businesses than Journos) so Apple became the underdog favourite with Media types and hipsters against the "evil empire". Despite Apple (even then) being way more fascist (int the Jargon File sense[^] rather than the Godwin one). These people are still carrying forward and promote the idea the Apple is the personification of all that is good in the world. It's interesting to watch the fanboys justify Apple's recent actions. Only a couple of years ago they were criticising MS as the big bad bull boy, now Apple is just protecting while its IP whilst somehow remaining ice-cool. </rant> * It was also historically more stable than MS, but it enjoyed the advantage of only needing to support Apple hardware.

Sort of a cross between Lawrence of Arabia and Dilbert.[^]

S3 vs Iphone is in my opinion a comparison Apple lost everything thats on the Iphone is on the S3 as well and sometimes even better, Camera for example. Iphone isn't innovative in my opinion because on the earlier version it wasn't capable of Flash, or save video when in the same timespan other products of the competidors where ahead in these features with Video conference for example

What about it? Users aren't locked into that marketplace, so vendors are free to link to their own marketplaces instead.

Given that Flash has been killed off for mobile devices, it looks to people like Apple were right. Remember that I said that Apple appear to be innovative (whether or not this is true is a different matter), but the appearance to the consumer is that other phones play catch up with the iPhone. And I say all of this as one of the Apple "haters".

 The "He's from Barcelona" is a quote from a 70s UK comedy called "Faulty Towers" - and it's not complementary about the IQ of Spanish waiters, which I why I didn't use it. Funny though, even if I can't watch a whole episode without chewing my own fist in embarrassment.
