Ah yes, "Wife" - the only software that costs more money to uninstall than to get a license for in the first place...

Ah yes, it's the free trial Girlfriend where you're happy with it, then you buy a license to upgrade it to Wife, and from there it all goes downhill.

I know what you are talking about. My home was fine untill I installed my wife in there a few years ago. From then, there was nothing like it was before. ;)

Wait until the addin comes along rugrat1 is almost as expensive to maintain as wife1. As for the poor buggers who are on wife# I do sympathise. I'm all for the variant mistress1.

No never! :) It's nothing serious. I just need to search for things more often than before.

Oh yes, but that's forbidden. Wife may call patent infringement on her, and guess who gets to pay the royalties?

...when you install a piece of software and it fucks up your system! A couple of days ago I needed an SSH client to access my webhotel server. I thought I'd go by recommendation and use OpenSSH. But I couldn't get it to work like I wanted, so I uninstalled it again and in the end I went with PuTTY which worked like a charm... Today I wanted to check my IP configuration, so I opened a command prompt like I've done a 1000 times before, entered "ipconfig" - and lo and behold: "ipconfig is not a recognized program name" (or something like that). Turns out that OpenSSH had replace my "Path" environment variable with it's own path. So now I have no idea what else might not be working on my computer anymore... I'm likely to have to fix more paths than just the System32 path... CRAP!

Oh, that's nothing. A couple of months ago I finally managed to get Java programs to install in English, rather than Chinese -- that's after about a year of swearing lots and calling the Mrs to find the option to display them in English. It turned out that it was a little dictionary program, which had decided that all Java programs had to be in Chinese, and the setting which governs the installation language is so well hidden that googling for it dozens of times didn't find it (of course, it didn't help that the Java control panel itself was irrevocably in Chinese). At least you know when the program was installed, and it was recent, so you can roll back with System Restore (and then install WinSCP[^], instead.

If a man says something and there are no women around to hear it has he still said something wrong? Since you are married that is a rhetorical question. :-D
