It does have the keys in the right positions - now take a close look at this[^] and tell me how to press the insert key. Then try to figure out how to press Ctrl+Insert and Shift+Insert ;)

I see. I forget about that one, I've never used it, never noticeably hit it on accident...and in fact the keyboard I'm on right now doesn't even have it. Guess keyboard makers have realized that many people feel the same way about it I guess...(your comment brings up a good point: does it even have a common name? )

The context key? (I just pulled that one out of left field.)

I code in binary, so I've removed all the keys except the numeric key pad, backspace, and enter.

Hmmm, I never actually thought about how little I use the Caps Lock key. I used to remove the three Windows keys because accidentally hitting them is a real pain in the neck and I rarely use them anyway. Soren Madsen

Recently in a post here someone adviced me to remove that key from my keyboard, and I did it I have been almost a month without that key and I tell you that we dont need that key at all. No more pressing accidentally that key when formating your code or when pressing shift key. give it a try you wont regret.

I too code in binary so I realized I just needed the 0 and the 1 on the numeric keypad, so everything else went. My typing skills are as perfect as my coding skills are so I don't need the backspace key either. Just the Enter key.

I bought this[^] when ms first started to make them, then after a couple of years, several of the keys (Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up/Down, and the arror keys) started to become somewhat unresponsive. So I bought this[^], which drove me nearly insane - I even started to use Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V. Now I use this[^], and once more I'm able to type while holding the phone with my left hand.

I got something like this[^] probably since my first computer somewhere in the late 90's. I've cleaned the whole thing only a few months ago and it still looks shiny and works fine :D Sometimes (like a few days every couple of months?) the space key becomes a bit unresponsive, but somehow that always fixes itself... No fancy curved keyboards for me, just plain and simple and working ;)

Soren Madsen I wrote an application called Typecase, which is like Character Map but with a much bigger and clearer display, and it uses the Windows menu key to select between the 256 levels of the Unicode character set.

Why don't 'modern' Word Processors (and editors) have a Change Case command to flip text written with Caps Lock on? Many still have a Change To Uppercase / Change To Lowercase command. The last Word Processor that I used that had a Change Case command out-of-the-box was TASWORD (pre PC days). I did write a macro for it when I had Word 6 (Office 97), but haven't bother recreating it for later versions of Word.

I did write a macro for it when I had Word 6 (Office 97), but haven't bother recreating it for later versions of Word.

you know that word has it right? even word 6... and it's right in the menu bar... (in the ribbon it's less easy to find, but it's there...)
