Anybody here still using Hotmail? I know, that's not what cool kids do, but I'm neither cool nor a kid. Anyway, they changed Hotmail to be "Outlook.com". It seems to be the "cloud" version of Outlook and the change from the old Hotmail is pretty big. At least I can still use my old @hotmail.com address and the desktop client (whatever they call it these days) still works.

I opened an outlook.com account on 1 August, when I first heard of it, just to see what the fuss was about. I have neither sent nor received any e-mail with it.

Outlook.com is truly an elegant upgrade to Hotmail. However, I am still surprised at the following things: 1) Signups automatically choose 'India' and Indian Time Zone for some reason 2) During Eastern evening hours, the attachment feature seldom works and sometimes it throws 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' and sometimes in a messagebox. 3) Not sure what is causing them to downgrade Skydrive storage from 25 GiGs to paltry peanut 7 GB when others are ushering to upgrade storage for their users. 4) Still depending on the sick silverlight to upload when there are more native browser capabilities.

Still using the same account I opened in '95. I know they've been changing stuff but I haven't really noticed much in the difference in the E-mail service. I actually prefer using hotmail as opposed to a pop3 account and downloading all the gunk directly to my machine.
It was broke, so I fixed it.

I'm still using Hotmail. and you can't have used hotmail for VERY long if you can find any real difference to outlook.com besides the layout and CSS. And if you like me appreciate real estate you can change back to Hotmail layout in settings. (How about that Chris) What really makes me wonder who they employ at MS nowadays is that outlook.com doesnt work, you have to type in www.outlook.com.

Define "very long" - I opened my Hotmail account in 1998 and it's been my primary e-mail account since then.
