I had read the Illuminati's trilogy which is a wonderfully funny spoof on all of the conspiracy theories and advised this person to read it. I'm affraid it could be the expression of a complex of superiority over other workers, particularly manual workers. Too many believe diplomas make intelligence.

Except maybe intelligent folk can achieve qualifications easier in many cases if they so desire. In English the words "Stupid" and "Silly" are used quite often and have no analogy to intelligence.
