Hi Everyone, I'm using VS.NET and my 'Task List' keeps behaving strangely. The 'task list' 'button' is present at the bottom of the screen, and if i roll over it it should spring up from the bottom, but it doesn't. Accessing it through the menus doesn't work, and i've even tried using DTE (the 'macro' system in the new IDE). :omg: Any clues for fixing this _without_ reinstalling? Thanks in advance, Paul Barrass

I have grown to hate that damned thing recently, it seems to resize itself on a whim when I have it grouped with the output window and both of them hidden. It sounds like it may have resized itself so small you can't see it at all (that happened to me once) - to fix it you'll need to reset your window layout and then arrange them how you want them again. To stop it happening in the future you'll need to either keep it visible on screen at all times (no autohide) or else fiddle with the docking until you can get it docked seperately to the other windows (output, find, etc).

Sounds like we've experienced exactly the same thing! Thanks for the tip David. Cheers, Paul

I have less-than-fond memories of one late night "VC6 to VC7" conversion where I must have seen the task pane slowly shrink into obscurity a dozen or more times. That tip is the result of me seriously considering masking off the entire base of my monitor just so I could forget about it. It's amazing how the really little things can drive you to distraction; it's like the boy who sat behind you in school and always used to tap the desk until you broke his fingers.

Just turn off the task list. It is pretty useless. Tools Options... Environment Projects and Solutions Settings Show Task List window if build finishes with errors

What's useless to one man is another man's time saver. :) It's a god send when you're checking off a list of errors. And comment tokens.... well worth the occasional hassle it may throw your way.
