    Some months ago my brother went to Canada and brought us some Maple syrup. It is delicious, I never tasted anything like that, and I had never heard about it before here in Brazil. But I have no idea where to put it. I mean, what can you do with it, besides eating it with a spoon?

            What I want to know is who figured out that: 1. You can't eat raw olives 2. Soak them in LYE (poison) for awhile 3. Now you can eat them What made them think of LYE?

                Maybe they just tried soaking everything in lye until they found something that tasted better afterward. They stopped too soon in Scandinavia.
