Were these translated from another language? The wording feels a little off for some reason. (And at least one of them had "txtspk" in it, I gave up about there.)

Still not an excuse not to spell out words like "you", unless they're trying to type out the text on a numeric keypad.

I'm not sure why, but the comic strip format doesn't translate well to the web. The typical layout of a comic strip is dictated by the medium (newspapers). Puting that restriction on the web is artifical and boring. I think ignoring that convention is one reason The Oatmeal is funny.

So make a bigger bubble. Or revise the text so it does fit, there are many ways to say the same thing. Using txtspk in something like that just looks unprofessional and lazy.
I know, it was an attempt at a joke. IMO, the entire comic is lazy comedy. The author thought of a comedic or ironic premise and just spit it out, without thinking of timing. 3 panel cartoons have a flow that readers anticipate, and it's not followed here. (Language and text speak aside) They end up reading like a first draft of a Dilbert cartoon, without the additional, intentional refinement to be funny. It's like when you pitch a joke or bit, it's not really funny, but you can tell it would be funny after the details are worked out by someone with an understanding of comedy. These read like a joke pitch. Sorry to go on a long and completely unfunny rant about the science of comedy, I try not to do it too often. Fart.
