I've been a fan of Dotnetperls[^] for about three years now. It was put together by a bloke called Sam Allen. Although the site has languished for a while it's still got some excellent Dotnet-related code samples. I've learned a lot from the author's code and his writing style is easy on the eye. I offer his site not as competition to CP but as one that's complementary. What I like about Sam's presentation is that he's generally to the point and deals with topics individually and avoids excessive bloat. For sure, his examples don't drift towards the Alpha quadrant but what he's done is worth looking at.

 Thanks for the link. Sites like this are rare a gem. I like writers like this who demonstrate in simple but complete examples. Seems more than few sites are just the authors attempt at showing how clever they are. While they may contain useful information and "relevant" demonstration of capabilities, I didn't like peeling away the complexities to get to the method I was after.

It was broke, so I fixed it.

That's why I liked his site and content. He seldom ever strayed far from the topic he was writing and demonstrating with code. His snippets were just the right size to drop into your own code and they worked. Like you say, he didn't need to show how clever he was. I'm not sure what happened to his situation but he seemed to stop editing the site quite a long time ago.

Great site, I recommend it to people a lot. I have a new guy starting tomorrow, will make sure he checks there before asking me about small stuff. It's basically a watered down, but incredibly clear msdn.
