Marmite Sandals sounds like a euphemism, but not as rude as the Bovril Boots or Honey Slippers. Have you tried slipping your toes into the old Butter Stilettos?

Maybe I'll try that with mine. They aren't terrible usually but the do get pretty smelly on occasion. But I'm not sure where I'd find Marmite, I'm not sure I've ever seen it...

Take the vomit of a cat and mix liberally with pig shit and ear wax. Boil in yak urine for about 6 weeks. Then spread on the backs of dead, rotting lizards and allow to dry and thicken in the hot desert sun. Put it in a jar and charge £1.40 for it.

David is not a fan, but Marmite is available from all good BDSM stores. I've been told.

After trying several ways of tackling the problem we decided to try Marmite, yes I do mean the stuff you put on your toast. Marmite is slightly alkaline with a pH of around 8 but also acts an antiseptic due to the high salt content. Marmite is just alkaline enough to neutralize the acidity present in Tevas, and the mild antiseptic effect is all that is needed to kill the Corynebacteria bacteria. http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf30271271.tip.html[^]

And you can still eat it. "Where is the marmite dear?" "In my shoes." "Thanks sweet." Win - win. Clean shoes. Yummy toast.

              What me worry?

But where am I going to find lizards at this time of year? Never mind, I won't be wearing them until the weather is warmer anyways, and then finding the lizards will be easy.

Pah! You're living in the 19th century: I just bought the smallest bottle of Marmite at Cost Plus for $5.99!!! BTW, heathen, Marmite is the food of the gods and should be ingested at least twice a week on thick buttery toast or with peanut butter and/or honey. Mmm. Anyone that says they dislike Marmite has not taste. None. Not an iota.

psh. The stuff YOU put on your toast. *blergh* Using marmite to get rid of nasty shoe smell seems an awful lot like putting out a fire with gasoline. (with apologies to David Bowie.)

I like a touch of Marmite, especially when combined with another toast coating, but peanut butter or honey? Really? Maybe I should try it before I criticise though.

Ha! If you really want to go all in here is my favorite sandwich: Marmite, crunchy peanut butter, really mature cheddar cheese and lashings of ketchup on bread smeared with decent butter. It's like eating four sandwiches at once: excellent.

Cheese, at least, is one thing I really like with Marmite.
