I was just reading the "RIP Mindy McCready" thread. About 90% of the content in that thread is either unintelligible nonsense (e.g. about some Spy magazine) or morally bankrupt garbage... and I cannot even downvote. I'm not sure if "no downvotes" is personal, specific to the forum, or something else... but the lack of a downvote option basically makes this site unusable for me. Constant protests aside, a downvote is exactly what many of those posts deserve. (A downvote is far too mild for several of them. Anyone who abuses the memory of someone who just died should be banned.) This is the last straw for me. I've already removed all of my content from this site. Now, I'm removing my account. I'm not sure how that works, but I guess I'll just e-mail Chris M. if I have to. CP had a lot of good things going for it at one time. It's unfortunate that there's not a site where people writing long, in-depth articles are appreciated (as opposed to people giving sarcastic "party line" answers to kids doing their homework). Of course, I can't forget WPF zealots, and now, it would seem, dog Chauvinists; such people are apparently embraced here. Sayonara, chumps.

One person overreacted and got questioned for suggesting death; standard behaviour here. As for the Eye reference, it is a satirical news periodical in the UK. Unfortunately there is no way to filter out non-Usain references, but there is a marvellous web site by the name of google where you can look up things you don't know or find difficult to understand. Try it.

The irony of an abusive post complaining about abusive posts. Is that recursive abuse? As one of the said WPF zealots, I found your post abusive. On that note, I bid you adieu.

That's clearly overreacting. Every single one of us appreciate good written articles, even the one giving sarcastic answers to kids trying to get us to do their homework. I do not see how the fact that one Lounge thread contained nonsense for you has any impact on how people should judge your work.

Frankly, that says a lot all by itself. Not wishing to participate in forums and the BS that does happen in here, fine its your choice etc... Pulling down all of your articles and whatnot just smacks of "I'm taking my ball and going home" attitude. If you were really as concerned with people benefiting from things here, you would have left those for people to benefit from(assuming they were of any value, haven't read any personally). The crap that gets spouted in the lounge and Soapbox, have absolutely zero to do with the value of information that is available for people who are truly looking for it. yeah, some long time posters here have long since gotten tired of the "gimme codezzz" posters in quick answers. I also see those same people posting helpful answers to plenty of people who use the forums in the sense they are intended for IE.. "I did my research, this is what I have but it still doesn't work, can somebody point me in the right direction?" Bitching about threads int eh lounge is akin to watching tv, you don't like it, DON'T READ IT. If you are here to help people with coding issues, then do that and ignore the lounge.

The internet is a place where an asshole can hide behind a keyboard. If I over-reacted every time someone got mad at me or I said something that someone didn't like or whatever I'd be a neurotic, psychotic mess. Oh wait a minute maybe I am...never mind!

Why are you punishing all the people that could benefit from your articles just because you don't like a few people that frequent a procrastination forum that's actually a very small part of a great site? It's not possible to like all the people of such a big place. So in what way is that different to life? And those few in the lounge can't have been the audience you intended for your articles anyway.
