Actually it is a joke. So I selected Joke from Message Type while posting it. The people on the platform were stupid enough to think that the train was actually going run up on the platform. So, they got down on the rails. The man alive was trying to commit suicide. So, hopped on to the platform from the rails. :-D

Sorry, what? So the people who wanted to live died, and the poor person who wanted to die survived. What is funny about that? The survivor must feel very guilty. I hope he didn't get depressed and try and do something stupid.

Why would he lie down on the platform to commit suicide? Surely he would have jumped onto the track as well? I understand it is quite impossible for a train to run on to the platform unless some catastrophe has happened elsewhere? You will be pardoning me sir, if I say I do not quite fully understand what is going on. Besides, it would not, could not, happen in Englanding because trains are not too punctual.

I too have readed Barrow's reply. Goodness, it has left me dazed to think about what has gone on.

Reporters: "Then, how could you escape the accident??"

In India the anouncement for a train's arrival is made only 2 min before the incoming train. Further, I really do expect people to treat this as a joke. So, let it not be scientifically reasoned. :)

752 people were standing at a railway station. Next day it came out in the newspaper that 751 people died there at the station. So the reporters gathered to question this man alive.

Reporters: "Can you tell us exactly what had happened?"

The man: "Oh yes! It was announced that - A through train will be passing from platform no. 3. So, all the people got down on the railway tracks sparing the platform and so, the train ran over them."

Reporters: "Then, how could you escape the accident??"

The man: "I was a bit intelligent. I tried to commit suicide and lay on the platform..!"

Did the train driver have poor eyesight? Did he not see all those people in front of him? Surely some of them would have survived even only because the accumulated bone matter of a couple of hundred people would have slowed the train or possibly derailed it - perhaps even causing it to fall over to the platform area killing the potential suicide?

                                        - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

I guess if you are dumb enough to ride on the outside of a train, you would be dumb enough to misinterpret the announcement.
