I don't have my suit back from the tailor. I don't have my shoes. I don't have a shirt + tie even picked out. I need a haircut. We don't have transportation to the venue yet. I don't know where I am getting ready in the morning. I need to activate a credit card (I was paying it down, not using it) to pay for stuff. Music list not finalized. Vows need to be finished, hell the ceremony does, too. ...and I haven't done my taxes. I'd be willing to entertain ceremony traditions, readings, etc. Geeky ones are good, not religious ourselves. This is one the fiancee picked: "When I say “love” the sound comes out of my mouth and it hits the other person’s ear, travels through this byzantine conduit in their brain through their memories of love or lack of love. And they register what I'm saying and they say yes they understand, but how do I know? Because words are inert. They’re just symbols. They’re dead. You know? And so much of our experience is intangible. So much of what we perceive cannot be expressed. It’s unspeakable. And yet, you know, when we communicate with one another and we feel that we have connected and we think we’re understood I think we have a feeling of almost spiritual communion. And that feeling may be transient, but I think it’s what we live for." from Waking Life[^]

My wedding is coming up in July. Told the fiancee I wanted even ups on the deities. So for every mention of god or jesus we're going to have a ktulu thrown in. Should make for a quick and entertaining ceremony.

Do something crazy, like pretend it's something else other than a wedding and say the appropriate thing for that. That would be great. Break a leg.

        If it moves, compile it

Here's a poem for your wedding: No suit from the tailor, ...Don't have my shoes. Not even a tie, ...but I got the booze. No transport to the venue ...No active credit card to use Dang, I also need a haircut ..but I got the booze. Music list not finalized ...haven't paid my IRS dues, Vows ain't even finished ...but I got the booze. Now, if I don't drink ...that's OK, there's nothing to lose. Cuz, without a place to get ready in the morning. ...I'll Just stay in bed for that final singles-only snooze. Have an awesome wedding!

I've been told that nobody wants a 3 minute ceremony. Basically, because anyone running late misses it. We weren't going to do any readings of anything, just a 3 minute thing, but according the hired gun humanist minister and the wedding coordinator, we should say something, a poem, anything, to occupy time.

It's your wedding - do what you want; not what someone else tells you to do. If people are late, tough on them for being so rude as to not allow sufficient time to get there. Anyway, there's a lot to be said for a 3 minute wedding, mostly along the lines of "that was 2.5 minutes too long".

I gave them a size and they gave me a price, last week. I asked them the weight, in grams (I worked in currency and metal trading) the guy said "heavy" we make them "heavy"... I did not ask them to wait.

I gave them a size and they gave me a price, last week. I asked them the weight, in grams (I worked in currency and metal trading) the guy said "heavy" we make them "heavy"... I did not ask them to wait.

Take ten minutes to make a priority list. Here's number one: Don't be too hungover. The rest is up to you. Have the best day of your life.
