    In April 2013, I switch my broad band onto BT Infinity 2. Previous to this I had been using Talk Talk standard ADSL 24Mbit service and typically got around 9 Mbps downstream and 1 Mbps upstream. I currently have a SamKnows[^] monitor box, and as part of this service, they send you a monthly score card of your connection performance. May, was the first full month on the new connection and I must say I have been extremenly pleased with it. It is also important to note, that prior to this installation, I had issues on the phone line (high noise, dropped carrier etc.) and this existed after the install, and BT traced the fault to a section of underground cable on the last link from cabinet to pole. This was fixed during the reporting period and may account for some of the spikes in packet loss etc. I had previously reported this fault twice to Talk Talk and they failed to even acknowledge me, which was another reason why I left left. Here are the results: Downstream: Min 5.17 Mbps, Max 76.43 Mbps, Average 60.91 Mbps Upstream: Min 11 Mbps, Max 19.89 Mbps, Average 18.53 Mbps Latency: Min 24.93ms, Max 37.19ms, Average 24.93ms Packet Loss: Min 0%, Max 31.67%, Average 0.21% Overall I have been well impressed with it, especially with movies and youtube etc.

      Oh!!! to be honest... i'm very very jealous of you man... :rolleyes: Mine speed... similar to you but 10 times slower Current speed... convert Mbps to Kbps (i'm on a dial-up).:mad:

        Those speeds are impressive, but none-the-less it's BT, a company which doesn't deserve to exist. I'm amazed you managed to get the fault sorted. I was without broadband/phone for 3 weeks while they messed around, and the experience of dealing with them on the phone left me wanting blood. PlusNet on the other hand - a thing of beauty.

                No, they pedal BTs lies (life would be better with BT broadband, for instance). Also, as students I'd expect them to do more than obsess about their bloody broadband. It wasn't like that it my day.
