where does the data come from? i.e. how did you get the data into the laptop? bryce

The data comes the ultrabook, they are fitted with a bunch of sensors as part of the ultrabook specification. The only parameter that is manually entered and required by the the BHP calculation is the vehicle and occupants weight. You will also notice that it calculates net BHP, I considered also adding coefficients of drag and drivetrain losses to allow calculation of gross BHP. Maybe in the future I will do this. Cheers,

The Ultrabook needs to be located in the car, I suppose (The Intel Ultrabooks already have those sensors built-in). I suppose most of the cars have no public API for their internal sensors.

As Marco points out the sensors are built into the Ultrabooks. See this page: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/ultrabook-and-tablet-windows-8-sensors-development-guide/[^] It would be possible to extract some data like speed from the cars OBDII sockets, but where is the fun in that! :) (or more to the point, it was an ultrabook competition about the sensors, so...)

I know where you are coming from, but these things are shifting so damn quick now, manually can't match it. The noise of the shift up under full acceleration is just the dogs danglies! And so is the auto-blip on deceleration...
