Lack of VB 6 Discussion

I want to discuss about VB 6 But that forum is not available. In Visual Basic Forum there are many VB .NET Discuss. How can I ask for VB 6?
There is a time machine, 2nd floor, last door on the left. Don't push the lever too far, or you'll end up having to write in COBOL.

Dead as COBOL or FORTRAN, it is an ossified language no longer supported. You may as well talk about ALGOL or PASCAL. Pull its mummified corpse from your mind and move on.

We still have COBOL and FORTRAN and VB6 programs to maintain. It's sometimes more painfull then going to the dentist (like you and me).

COBOL is not completely dead. I can attest that because if I look over my PC monitor I can see tons of people writing COBOL code. It has been a quite good working area down here in Brazil...

No worries :-) yeah it is a little bit calmer. Now the government and "associated crew" are trying to fix things up because they finally realized we were fed up. Honestly I never thought I would see such thing in my lifetime...

Well, we have actually two rooms like that. One in the IT production site (10 kilometers from here, the development site, all basically on Virtual Machines) and one in the Main Building Down Town as backup. It's a medium sized private swiss bank and better to have backup of data (in case it gets stolen..)

It would be great if the bank corps here could upgrade their old systems, but they seem quite happy with this ancient environment. As a C/C++ programmer, it does not make me any good that they keep wrapping old systems using .NET and Java components. COBOL is being taught here at Universities again. My brother in law works for a small company whose main product is a fiscal system/administrative system and the whole thing was written in COBOL with several emends to work with the real world. I would be glad if there was a huge change in business men's retrograde mentality here so that they could see that upgrading is worth its cost.

Honestly, I lost in interest in our national team a long time ago ( 2002 ). I wish Netherlands had won the last world cup, not they were a great team, they have just been deserving to win since the 70s. On the other hand it is good to see Spain. I am cheering up for Uruguay tonight :)

There are still (free) COBOL and FORTRAN compilers available. VB6 is no longer sold, and there are no "free" implementations. While COBOL may still be alive, VB6 is dead. Pushing up the daisies. Joined the choir invisible. An ex-language.

Honestly, I lost in interest in our national team a long time ago ( 2002 ). I wish Netherlands had won the last world cup, not they were a great team, they have just been deserving to win since the 70s. On the other hand it is good to see Spain. I am cheering up for Uruguay tonight :)
Uruguay Spain would be a great final. Italy for me... (I'm living 10 kilometers from Italy, that's why nearly everybody here likes when Italy looses). Final is scheduled at midnight local time here un Sunday, doubt I see it. Tomorrow definitly Spain.
