I see that the world media is portraying the USA as having a huge melt down over the verdict in Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case. Just so you know, yesterday in my home town I went for a long walk, had a Margarita on the front porch of my uncle's home, and played video games with my daughter. There was an up-ended garbage can downtown - possibly the result of some violent protest - but most likely up-ended by my neighbor, Mrs. Eire, aged 96, who has tendency to bump into things with her 1989 Oldsmobile. I didn't meet anyone who had any clue as to what was going on with that case. In short, most of America doesn't care and most of America looks on with utter amazement as cesspools like L.A. and NYC descend into violence at every opportunity. Bear in mind that these are the two locations in our country that people go to when they want to establish an acting career - over acting is what they do. So I propose we make a deal: I suggest that I won't believe the news outlets when they find Euro-scum and portray human debri as representative of some vast movement across the pond if you'd return the same courtesy. Thanks.

Personally, I do not understand the logic of: Smashing store windows, overturning cars, looting, beating people up, setting fires, etc, in order to: protest violence in society....

oh I wish for a Volcano base, all that green geothermal energy (strangely its green tax free despite kicking out horrendous amouts of green house gass) I have to make do with a secret cellar in an old wherehouse .. oh .. no ... wait a minute, I didn'y mean that... nothing to see here, I certainly dont have a secret base and its certainly not in a wherehouse.. so sir, not me (walks away tunelessly whistling)

It is -- except that it's called football, because it involves interacting with a ball using only one's feet (hence the trampling being particularly apropos).

Remember a few years ago (2005?) when there were some riots in the suburbs of Paris and some other bigger towns in France ? That was broadcasted as "civil war in France" on every US TV channel, some of them showing tanks (?!) and barricades. Actually, this was a very peaceful couple of days. I had a couple days off and only heard about the whole thing two days after it was over. Tlak about media covering...

Thanks.

I live in Florida about 3 hours from Tampa and to be honest I didn't know the verdict until someone told me. Traffic was light today, there was a mild cold rain all weekend.

Bypassing the meter is an important safety measure: when you fire up this baby, the little dials would spin so fast they might start a fire!
