On BBQs in the south

I find that a 'bama BBQ is good, but not anywhere in the league of a Texas or Nashville BBQ. And if things work according to plan and Mike is free, I'll be able to judge a South Carolina BBQ. Just felt like sharing that tidbit of wisdom, have fun with it this weekend and if I do end up making the drive to Shiloh, TN, I'll post any pictures.

For a proper BBQ, you have to go whole hog. :jig:
I've tried Big Bob Gibson[^] in Decatur. The brisket was smoked nicely.

I'm ready any time you can make it my friend, been looking for a good BBQ place here in Beaufort. Put off my trip to FL as I've been painting our house, they finally closed on it so my work begins.

I'll give you a call later on today. I was walking by the hotel, enjoying the sun and what do I see but a Waffle House. I haven't seen one in about 15 years. So I make the first mistake and walk towards it. The second was opening the door and the third was to sit down at the booth and pickup the menu. My crowning achievement for my daily quota for "stupid things to do" was actually ordering a burger. BARF Now I know why I didn't like it all those years ago. Never again, or at least another 15 years.

I hear ya I went in one a couple of years ago and ordered the standard bacon, eggs, hash browns with toast and the cook used so much PAM (non-stick spray) that that's what everything tasted like. Like you said big mistake but you would think after 15 years they would try to get it right...wrong!

Hmmm I'll be visiting Mike in SC soon. I'll be happy to compare your NC vinegar based BBQs. Its only a slight detour from South Carolina, through North Carolina to Alabama ;) Give me half a wink and I'll do it, I'll even try to convince Mike to come along for the road trip.

That would be ironic because we don't have regular TV channels just Netflix which we watch rarely. Don't even miss TV have taken up reading and am working on the house...painting it at the moment and boy did it need it, it's sucking up the paint.
