Something I would never do, even after a few large ones.

I much prefer GIN to vodka. I like the GIN version with a Vermouth, like Martini.

I recently got a bottle of Green Mark[^] - it was on special offer for Father's day - £10 rather than £16.99, so I thought it was worth a try, and it's good

How can you seriously say that vodka is crap? Plain vodka without added flavours doesn't taste of anything. All taste the same. It's not woth drinking until you add something to the vodka - unless you just want to get drunk in a hurry of course.

Its like oysters (not that I like them, just a comparison). Oddly enough, I get less toxicated on vodka than on wine. Most wines make me sick, even with the lower alcohol content. If you really want to get plastered, try vodka with cola. I only made that mistake once. X|

Me too, a well made Martini is quite a treat.

Won't it be caused by the sulphites they contain? See those articles: http://www.beekmanwine.com/prevtopbd.htm[^] http://www.thekitchn.com/sulfites-in-wine-necessary-or-100878[^] In my village we produce really good wines, but I guess it is too far away from your house just to try it... but of course you could try to drink a sulphite free wine when you got the opportunity to do it. It's a pity missing the pleasure of a good wine to eat... :sigh:

Recommendations? Gibley's turned out to be crap. Smirnoff is good but some variety would be nice. (Straight from the freezer. No cocktails please. OT - how come c*ck gets censored but not with a tail?)

From experience, I would recommend; Zubrowska Bison Grass[^] Grey Goose[^] Russian Standard[^] ...personally, I would most strongly suggest trying both the Bison Grass and Grey Goose with Russian Standard and a most excellent fall back position... literally ;P

Level Vodka is good. It's Absolut's premium brand.

It's a myth that Vodka is tasteless - it's relatively less taste-intensive compared to whisky/brandy/rum/gin/tequila but it has a taste.
