Don't worry, I've had a "Dear Richard" on LinkedIn before, I would of thought my name was pretty clear.

Got this from a "recruiter" this morning:

        Quote:

Good morning. I noticed you had extensive software engineering experience with Nokia. I was wondering, are you keeping your options open in regards to new opportunities?

There is nothing on my resume or LinkedIn page that refers to Nokia or any smartphone platform. C'mon dude, do your homework, or actually perform your job.

I think the larger issue is your lack of engineering experience with Nokia.

Do you complain when receive vi*g*a spam, though there is nothing on your resume or LinkedIn page that refers to such kind of problems? This is just spam, and LinkedIn is a huge spam generator.

That's comical, haha. Then.... there are also those recruiters that invite you to apply and don't mention the company they're representing, this guy/girl seems like one of those people.

Programming a Nokia is considered a problem? I'll stay away from that. ;) I don't get vi*g*a spam from LinkedIn. just lazy recruiters.

When I go fishing, I don't care about the lives and the history of the fish I catch. I merely go were I think I will find them and use whatever bait will attract the most fish. The difference is I only eat the fish whereas recruiters eat the soul.

Therein lies the issue, if I go fishing for walleye I use a different bait than I do for trout.

I typically get 3-4 unsolicited emails from recruiters weekly, most of which go in the bin without a second glance. Today's one did catch my eye though: My Client is looking for a VB6 developer on a 3 month contract. The day rate for the contract is around £115 per day (absolute max!) Skills Required: o Visual Basic 6 o SQL Server 2000, 2005 o Classic ASP o Java Script o C# (desirable) o ASP.Net (desirable) o ASP.net MVC (desirable) o Java (desirable) I was tempted to reply and ask how many years ago he sent the email...
