Kiss off, Ed. I just think its a cool video and said nothing about being gleeful of bombing civilians. BTW< Bombing civilians is not the goal of the US military in Iraq.

How can you compare a bunch of civilian airliners full of passengers being slammed into civilian buildings during peace time, with military planes bombing military targets during a war? Maybe you forget that part of the reason we're going into Iraq to get rid of the government and actually liberate the oppressed Iraqis. And maybe you don't realize that most oppressed people of the world welcome anyone with enough balls to liberate them. Oh no, no, GWB just wants to see how effective our new weapons are for bombing Iraqis, yeah, sure. He's gonna have so much fun doing that! I'll go on the assumption that you're on the payroll of some well funded leftist organization and that you don't actually believe all the stupid crap you write. Alvaro

To many, but a lot fewer than Sadaam has killed .... Or might kill. No one want to hurt or kill innocent civilians. Unfortunately Sadaam and his family aren't very inclined to just leave. Uptight Ex-Military Republican married to a Commie Lib - How weird is that?

During the "softening phase", targetting infrastructures, energy plants, transportation means will obligatorily kill civilians. Moreover, once war started we won't have any reliable source anymore. Why not throwing one or two airborne divisions over Bagdad instead?

Dropping paratrooper over a city like Bagdad would be suicide. The Iraqis would be shooting our troops as they were dropping. Besides a house to house fight in the city would be a lot more destructive than bombing the infrastructure. Every street every alley would be a killing field. Look at Somalia in Magadishu and the Israeli's in the refugee camps. Innocent civilians are bound to die there. Maybe by attacking the infrastructure and targeting military targets we can reduce Sadaam's support amongst his military. In Desert Storm the Republican guard and the other troops surrendered wholesale. Can you imagine the way those guys must feel right now knowing there fearless leader is setting up for a rematch? Intimidation is almost surely one of the startegies we are going to use. Uptight Ex-Military Republican married to a Commie Lib - How weird is that?

A "'stalingradization" of the Gulf War 2 is IMO always possible, whatever the means used by the US. After all, Stalin wasn't really beloved by the soviets before the German invasion, and yet the resistance of the soviet people was heroic.

Ooooh yes. Kick ass airplane! I've actually touched the A-12 Blackbird (eventhough you weren't supposed to.) at the Intrepid[^] Sea-Air-Space Museum in New York. The A-12 is a single seated version of the SR-71. IIRC, the A-12 was build for the navy, while the SR-71 was built for the USAF. I have a picture of myself standing infront of the airplane. Damn I look slick in that picture. Maybe I should scan it and put it on my profile page. -- Say it darling Doesn’t seem like you want that kind of honey, honey

while i think the "Bomb Saddam" bit is silly, i do love those f-22s! (and i still think the f-16 is the coolest looking plane out there) -c

The F16 is quiet beautiful, but for modern planes I would prefer the Gripen and the Rafale :) My favorite US jet fighter will be for a while the Tomcat.
