The challenge for Apple is to slow "Samsung's momentum and capture the booming Chinese mobile market." As significantly, the world is awaiting another innovative product from Apple, which could be perhaps the iWatch wearable computer or something completely unexpected, Interbrand said. The company's reputation has, meanwhile, taken some hits after it was found guilty of conspiring with five large book publishers to fix e-book prices, and faced allegations about worker conditions in China at its supplier Foxconn, and ongoing patent disputes with Samsung.

Not that remarkable, considering the the States of Unitedness tend to always give most value to the most useless. As a brand, apple is cr@p, because it's based on ponciness and undeserved elitism. And coca-cola? Actors, sportsmen, pop-stars, all the most useless of people (if you were starving and freezing to death on a deserted island, whom would you want to be there with you?), are treated like deities. Cars that are only good for battle conditions, or climbing roadless mountains, are envied. Etc. For an example of the converse: people who study hard in the sciences, equipping themselves to make a real difference in the quality of life of everyone, are treated like pariahs. so Me = !Surprised

I think despite of all the negative news which Apple received in the media, its brand is still a very powerful one. I think the Apple brand is so powerfull because Apple says, all its products are exclusive, so if you own an Apple product your in the elite, who can afford to be exclusive. We have to admit, their products are really good if you look at the whole (hardware + design + software). What do you think, why Apple's brand is so powerful?

Well as i replied to Gergo Bogdan comment: Apple does not sell technology or anything in that line Apple sells a lifestyle... Some cases are as follows: 1 People buy Apple and feels exclusive owning the product, almost royal (Best example of this is a statement not uncommon as follow:" I will call your cell phone from my iphone") X| 2 People buy an apple product and as such start to enjoy the accessibility of being able to do everything on everything apple. So start to slowly replace everything with apple for the convenience sake (which still does not make any sense to me as if you only hack one device you hack all devices, do not tell me one password is really that secure...) 3 People buy one product and now that it only works on apple products, so instead of throwing it away or selling it, starts to buy more apple just to use the full functionality of original bought apple product. :-O I mean think about it where have you ever heard any company selling a lifestyle this successful. So i do not like apple at all but I do respect them business-wise. To top it off where have you ever heard the face behind a company just get fired and the product still keeps growing?

No, 9 millions sold phones does not equal 9 million users. Some phones will still be somewhere in the store, in storage, or still be in gift-wrappings. ..and I'll bet that someone will have tried whether it blends :)

(Seriously, if it is ever possible here) In what way is Apple "crap" ? (other than anecdotical evidence ) The company releases good products that pleases people, I've not heard massive recalls or huge failures in recent history. It is true that there were and will be crap Apple products (the towers, the cube, some weird mouse, the newton, some map weirdness... ) but the company continued and worked around those. The hardware is good and works as expected, the software works as expected (including the inevitable bugs and quirks). People buy the products, not just the "elite" as someone wrote below, but "moms" and "pops" because it works. If the product was really crap, then reviews would not be good and the product would not sell.

                          I'd rather be phishing!

The liking of something is a personal thing, either you like it, either not. With that line, I wanted to emphesize, that (IMHO) there is no other company which has a so unified (hardware + software) "environment" for users and Apple knows this. I'm curious why did you write don't make me laugh? Before you say anything I don't work for Apple :-D
