Jewish not German I don't understand this - One is a religion, one is a nationality That's like me saying "I'm Agnostic, not English" (all the sources I've read say he's German, btw) [edit:] though the biog[^] on his site says he was born in Poland, became an American Citizen and now lives in Germany. He is from germany, my thought was wrong (It's a typical jewish name, and he designed the jewish museum in Berlin - an attraction even without any exhibition).

Just saw on the news tonight what they claim is to be built in place of the World Trade Center. Can't bothered looking for a link to a site on the web using my shitty dial-up connection. It's by some German guy whose name translated into English must mean dickhead. I mean what an abortion. Let's just leave the fucked up, blown up foundations and build over them and hope it's stable. Then we'll put some immensely tall shitty looking see through tower and fill it with trees. I think the people who signed off on this must have been partying with that bloke who used to be mayor of Washington DC. Although on the one hand it seems like a nice idea (people's loved ones living on, will not be conquered, etc), it seems rather like an invitation for a later attack to me. Perhaps I'm too synical, but I would not like to be offered a job in that future building. :(

I have a problem with all modern architecture in general. I thougt the original WTC was as ugly as hell. Sky scrapers are always eye sores simply because of the demands of physics. None of the ornate elegance of earlier generations. Just glass and aluminum. Yuck. However, having said that, I have always been in favor of putting up another one just like the other one as a monument to what American is and, I hope, will forever be - a thriving center of free market enterprise and capitalism. Loud, rude, barbarians striving as individuals to make a buck. Just the way I like it. Although on the one hand it seems like a nice idea (people's loved ones living on, will not be conquered, etc), it seems rather like an invitation for a later attack to me. Perhaps I'm too synical, but I would not like to be offered a job in that future building. :(

But I am fantastic in bed! And there are gorgeous women in all the houses I pass. And it would be wrong to leave them unsatisfied! So spam is the only way... - Paul Watson

And that may be a good thing, as it will likely remove a number of low-wage foreigners from behind the wheels of taxi cabs and put them behind shovels and rakes where they can do less damage.:) It is ok for women not to like sports, so long as they nod in the right places and bring beers at the right times.

I think he's just trying to confuse us to death -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

Well, jews claim to be a part of Zion - a jewish nation. Or have I totally misunderstood this Zion thing? :) -- Uh huh. Yeah.

I expected them to turn it into a memorial site. I'm afraid I don't understand the obsession with building more towers there - but then I'm not an American so that shouldn't be a surprise! Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk

The price per square unit in downtown Manhattan is quite steep. It would be foolish NOT to rebuild something that could be used. That doesn't prevent, however, that the new building will be some sort of monument/memorial site. -- Uh huh. Yeah.

sure, but I was under the (partially wrong(?)) impression that a) he has no german passport (anymore?) and b) "Jewish" does reveal more about him than "german"
