Being Canadian, it is clearly in my veins. I watch every single match of my beloved home team (Montreal) and I play at least once a week. How many of you out there like it as much (or not as much)? Any software dev who's also a hockey fan?

Ha nice. The Rangers are 2nd out of the 30 teams in the NHL that have the most money with a valuation of 850M$. I don't know how it compares to other sports teams, though.

Luckily enough, I don't play pro so there's a mandatory mouth piece and full-face mask rule that helps me keep all 32 of them at the right place! :-\

Well, as a product of the Great State of Massachusetts with strong Canadian heritage I must say that I enjoy Hockey from a safe distance. Seriously, I can't even watch it, I can't tell what's going on. What's with having only three quarters?! It's just a ridiculous game. I played floor hockey in elementary school, back when Bobby Orr trod the boards. Go Bruins! P.S. I just remembered something else. One year at a Christmas party where my father worked I was given a hockey stick. A wrong-handed hockey stick. Later, my friends complimented me on my back-hand. :~ P.P.S. I'd rather watch Hockey than Curling. And why is there a Hockey team here in Phoenix?

Over here the scale goes from England to Finland. It's fun watching live, not very fun on the telly and I basically never get to watch it live due to the exorbitant prices on tickets.

Well I am born and raised in Turkey. I didnt't have interest in hockey since 2006. As you know Turkey is not a country where hockey is popular. People love soccer here a lot and they are so passionate about it like Canadians are for hockey. But I have met my best friend in 2006 and since then I am a Canucks fan.. Well you must have guessed he is from Vancouver :) Right now I cannot watch all the games since I am back from LA and the matches are like at 4-5 AM. I watch them from tape or the highlights. Tho, when I was living in LA, I tried going every single game of Canucks vs Sharks/ Skanks.., Kings or Ducks..

Though I am British, I thoroughly enjoy it - keeping up with an 80-odd game regular season is hard with the time difference is very difficult though so I'd place myself somewhere just beneath US-ian interest, as I understand it's not as popular there as the land of Canadia ;P There is an ok-ish semi-pro league in the UK that garners a surprising amount of interest, most people would be surprised to find.

I heard if you buy a hockey ticket in Phoenix, they give you a meal combo, some Coyotes props and a key to the city. All that for 19 dollars. :)
