10a) they didn't have them when I were a lad and it never did me any harm Seriously though, I think technology everywhere all the time is bad for everyone, but children particularly because that's when you're supposed to be learning what is normal, learning self control and developing a feel for the world, so they'll be much less good at self-regulating usage. I played something like 10 hours of gaming over the weekend though and now I feel 'sufficiently sleep deprived to affect grades' and 'addicted' as well :sigh:

Coming back from the school run this morning, I noticed in the on coming traffic that a lot of people appeared to be texting or using phones rather than looking at the road. Okay, they were moving at the standard 0.1 mph, but still.

Actually it's probably the one coming at you from the side that's most likely to do serious damage. But inattention generally results in accidents due to not stopping in time, or going straight on at corners, and that's going to impact people in front of the person not watching.

Not just hand-held. Has no one noticed the increase ADD/ADHD/ABCDEFG/ETC/Autism pretty much coincides with all the teach-your-children-to-read-before-the-can-use-the-toilet books and videos and games and crap? You over-stimulate someone and bad things happen.
