That's easy. Just use Start8[^]. I also use a few registry hacks to make my Win8 look like Win7. Here's[^] what my Win8 task bar looks like. /ravi

Using taskbar properties, you can make it mostly disappear. You can't get rid of it completely though

Windows 7 removed the copy and paste buttons, and in Windows 8.1 they are back.

Two buttons... which I use *all* the time, so yes they are important. But also, lots of other stuff, the ui just seems to be organised much better

True. And if he doesn't want to use his other hand, then after selecting files and/or folders, right-click and select the "Copy" menu item, followed by right-clicking in the destination location and selecting the "Paste" menu item. It only takes one hand and there is no need to navigate the mouse to a button location.

you need two hands to activate the shortcut, so you have to take your hand off the mouse and that slows you down. Really there's no reason no to have a toolbar button. It's not like there's no room

Lol To remove metro from windows 8 is to remove all advancement in technology, while you use compatibility mode aka the desktop. Brilliant: viva la resistance

Remember, windows is for the masses, not just the power users. Otherwise we would all just be called users. Personally I actually enjoy a lot of windows 8 (Except NewUI which I find stupid on my dev machine!) But they have improved a lot of system functionality. Saying that though, I really really miss the prettiness of Windows 7. I want my transparency options back.
