Downloading from MSDN is...

.... terrible! I dunno about you! But I live in Australia, got MSDN subscription, download is slow... and, worse, it sometimes fails! (At 95% of 3GB ISO for Windows 8.1, argh.....) They used to have a download manager, what happened to it?! :wtf:

I just downloaded Windows 8.1 with Update and Visual Studio - because I lost the iso's somewhere and it all completed in less than 20 mins - no complaints.

Which file? If I can download it (no promises, I only have BizSpark), I could turn it into a torrent for you. Might go a bit better. Then again, maybe not. At least you won't run into corruption or "download hiccuped so you have to start over" nonsense.

The download manager is still there. I just used it last week. Did you try downloading via Internet Explorer? Or did you use a different browser. My experience is that with Chrome, it's just a bog-standard browser download. Gotta use IE if you want to use the manager.

At least w/MS's download manager, I believe they set up their own torrents to speed (when they went from an entire CD to and entire DVD sized downloads). Fastest I ever got from them was about 2.5M/sec

I haven't for a while (6 months or so) but previously never had a prob downloading from MSDN - just before my subscription ran out I downloaded tons of stuff, just to make sure I had copies locally and they all came down smoothly. The only time I had problems was on day 1 or 2 of some popular new release when every man and his dog was downloading. So maybe it's you? :)
