Windows 9??
-
Well I know things have to change, it's the way Win8 divorced itself from previous versions, there was no gradual change as there was 98-2000-XP-Vista(?)-XP-Win7 all those versions came with enough commonality after about an hour you could use them. Win8 WTF?, unlike previous versions you looked for Z in the old place, find Z some where else. Z was dead baby!
DOS to Windows was a big change.

For that, I sincerely apologise.

ok we get it, you don't think the next version of windows will be called 9, however until they release the actual name than we will call it 9 so everyone else realises what we are talking about

I said windows 9 could exist, and might very well exist, but right now it doesn't

That doesn't matter no What matters is reality and there is no Windows 9 in reality yet. So pull your head out of the clouds
We don't have SkyNet yet either; so what?
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

I don't even know why they are called that. They never used to be named after the NT version number.

Windows naming has never followed a pattern - oh look another reason why it won't be 9

God does not exist just like Windows 9

you seem to care a lot about what they are calling the next version and what everyone else is calling it. Prior to the release of 8 people were calling it 8 despite the fact it hadn't been officially named and did that change the world? really if that is the only thing you have to worry about then just be thankful and stop trying to wind us up. I cannot understand why someone with the experience you claim to have would give a fig what they call the next version

I care that Code Project who I held high regard for - who is proving to be full of shit

The code project isn't going on about SkyNet genius.

Well, even "Windows 7" tells me it's really "Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]" . It's just a frickin' name; it just doesn't matter.
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.
Yeah exactly, and no one at Microsoft has declared what the next name will be yet.

Heh, I never noticed that before. That's pretty weird, it was definitely marketed as a full version number not 'Vista.1' (Win 6 is Vista), and I'm pretty sure there were fairly major back end changes that justify 7 getting a proper version number bump.
Windows 7 is 6.1 Windows 8 is 6.2

God is a believe - reality like Windows 9 does not exist is not a belief, windows 9 which is built on rumors is a belief

Hey can you give me a Microsoft source?
Can't say I care one way or another, however it is customary in the lounge that the subject line end with 'OTD' when posting daily about a specific subject.

I am not posting daily on the subject. You are not king.

Windows 8 exists Windows Threshold exists Windows 9 could exist - but doesn't. And anyone that can't admit that is full of shit.
Oh no... CSS has returned to the forums... I thought he was banished to the Back Room and eventually scared off... I'll have to start another quotables thread...

I care about credibility of programmers, who I am learning clearly have none, and these threads make it easy to show the public that you don't have credibility.

DOS to Windows was a big change.
True, but at least with DOS if you knew what you wanted you could do. No as user friendly but you hit the metal near enough! :) ...

I don't care about your fucked up reality on the world.

DOS to Windows was a big change.
No, it wasn't. The pre 95 versions of Windows were a graphics shell which ran on top of DOS - it was DOS with a pretty face and memory management. 95 was different - and better - because it wasn't DOS based.

If you know what you are doing in Windows 8, you can do things that you didn't even know where possible, so go to Microsoft Virtual Academy and learn about Windows 8, instead of talking out your ass.
