Independent Scotland!
-
Just saw in the news that there will be a voting on the 18th this month about the future of Scotland. All you Scotlanders here - what would you say? Yes or no?
I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. (V)
It would be a fallacy according to what Alex Salmond wants. 1) He would share a currency with rUK, rather than having an independent currency. 2) He would re-enter the EU and cede power to a federalist Brussels. Doesn't sound very independent to me.

You should see the situation more from an open source point of view. If nobody has the guts you end up with giants producing shitty products. BTW they have Scots Whiskey what else do you need ?
I did here a good campaign slogan from a drunk Scotsman: 'You can keep our women, but we're having the whisky!'

This should be in the soapbox.... political topic.
I'd rather be phishing!

Psst, it was a union not an invasion. Also, if anyone was the usurper, it was the Scots taking over the English crown and not the t'other way. To be fair the vote should be in England & Wales to leave Scotland. ;P

I think the correct term you are looking for is purchase - at least of their parliament. Or bribe, bribe is closer. You'll note that, practically as soon as the Crowns were unified, the King'o'Scotland moved south of the border to dryer and less deep-fried climes.

You think the English occupied Scotland?

Well maybe, but he might make it more of a Lounge question if he asks about whether the independent Scottish banks should upgrade from Fortran and Cobol. ;P

No they don't. Unlike the Irish stuff, Scottish whisky does not have an e.

Big waste of time and taxpayers money though it would solve the West Lothian question once and for all.

Now you get me thinking this is another yet to be successful european takeover.

I hope that Scotland does not vote to leave the Union .But if they do vote yes then there is no way they can keep the pound . It is the same argument for the UK keeping out of the Euro , can't have Johnny Foreigner affecting the currency now can we .On a similar note Spain will object to them getting automatic entry into the EU in order to deter the Basques . Salmond can bleat all he wants about negotiations , but if Scotland do want independence then they ain't getting the pound and they ain't getting the Euro.

The West Lothian question being: "Where the Elephant is West Lothian?"
You looking for sympathy? You'll find it in the dictionary, between sympathomimetic and sympatric (Page 1788, if it helps)

Actually the ones fighting in this moment are the catalans, not the basques. IMHO basques are just waiting to see if the others just sink in the middle of the sh1t or actually manage to stay above the surface. Then depending on the result, start b1tching to follow them.
M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
