Hmmm....I now have two second interviews coming...

Hi All, Regulars will know of employment trouble, I now have two second interviews coming. I feel that while I could do both jobs one is beyond the 'Here Be Monsters' sign very close to the middle of know where, the other is much closer to life but does work in an area which I don't really know (but the employers seem to want to train me!). Any suggestions, Help? Glenn
Two-second interviews ? Like *starts counting* one ... two ... done ? You should be more confident in yourself, I am sure you can last at least five minutes. ;P

Think of the advantages: Middle of nowhere: light traffic means easy commute (except for one week in winter when the snow is deep). You don't have to live next door to your workplace! Area you don't know: provided it's something interesting to you, and they are willing to train (and give you time to get good at it) that's not a problem either - learning is good! :laugh: Approach both with confidence, and an open mind - try to get them both and you can make a decision then. Assume you don't want one of them and what happens if you don't get the other? As you have seen, it's a lot easier to get a job if you already have one... :laugh: Good luck!

Given a choice, I would take the second offer because learning new things ( and also getting paid) will expand my skillset which will help me in future search

I second OG on this. Do not rule out one of them before interview! You can get both, visit both places and see how you feel about before saying your last word...

I have fallen foul of those things many times. The best I have done was sorting out a C test that suddenly ask you a question on Dephi. Best O' Luck though:thumbsup:

Too late, done it since my last post. 30 questions, allow 45-60 minutes, finished inside 30. Aty a guesstimate I scored 80% +/- 19.36%
Could have been worse: you could have scored 19.36% +/- 80% Good luck - I know what it's like being unemployed, and nobody makes it easy to get back into work...particularly if you are any good and have the record / previous wages to prove it. :sigh:

Here's another vote for doing both interviews as unbiased as possible, and make up your mind afterward if you'd be so lucky that you get both jobs.
