Hello hope you are well. I installed Visual Studio Express 2013 for Desktop and for Web. I'd like to replace these with the new free Visual Studio Community 2013. Is there an easy way to completely uninstall the VS Express software and it's components or am I better off doing a clean format of my PC? Thanks & regards.

      Yes, in the control panel.

Hi, I should have been more specific and mentioned that Control Panel (from the complaints I have read) doesn't effectively remove VS and it's components. There are a lot of Microsoft related programs in my Control Panel but I'm not 100% sure which are components directly related to VS Express. I took a screenshot of them in case someone could help point them out but just realised there is no pic attachment. Not ideal but I'll just do a clean format of my PC to be 100% certain.

If you want to remove the IDE, do so. The other components might be used by other applications. Formatting is the only way to be "sure".

That's a bit extreme just to remove one application. I have added and removed many versions of Microsoft Express editions and never had a problem with the newly installed versions. I currently have C++ 2010, C# 2010 and Desktop 2013 installed and they all co-exist fine.

I see, thanks for the advice. I'll probably just remove the Express apps from Control Panel then and see how I get on. Cheers!
