Guys How do you bathe? There are various ways in which you mcan do this :- (1) Take a shower (this is a universal technique used by westerners, easterners and aussies) (2) Take a proper bath in a tub (not so common in India [except in hindi movies where they want to show the lead girl semi-clothed] - but common in the Europe I guess) (3) Bucket, mug method - This is a south indian method not very well known in other areas. You fill a bucket with water and use a mug to pour it on yourself (4) Pond dip - this is again a south indian method where people just take a few dozen dips in a pond (also perhaps used by mid-area-indians) Regards, Nish

Hmm... my 2 cents worth: I also always use (and far prefer) option #1, far quicker, more convenient etc. I also agree with Colin about a dip in the sea then jumping into freshwater shower afterwards - great if you're on holiday at the coast. Paul ;)

Recently I only take showers, but when I was a child, I used to take a bath in a tub with running water and when I was very young in a tub without running water (the tubs they use in the western movies).:) Brad Jennings "if the golden arches shut shop, where else are the VB people going to get work." - Colin Davies

Showers are for speed and efficiency; baths are a sybaritic pleasure that should be enjoyed at leisure. At least once a week I treat myself to a long soak with a good book, preferably with a shot of bath oil added to soothe the skin. The water here is so hard, and the climate so harsh, that the skin dries and cracks from lack of moisture. A long, hot bath is the best way to overcome the effects of the climate. And as someone else mentioned, it's a great way to ease aching muscles, especially after a hard workout or a day working in the yard. Even so, a quick shower always follows, as it is impossible to rinse properly in a bath. Ancient man conquered his rivals with the jawbone of an ass; modern man uses the jawbone of a politician.

As my room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower but no bath (shouldn't it be called a showerroom then?) I tend to shower rather than use the shared bathroom across the hall. Besides, I take ages in the bath (usually about three quarters of an hour) and a shower's much quicker - though shaving legs in the shower is a pain. Anna :rose: Homepage | My life in tears

If I can, then definitley #1. But my flat only has a bath, no shower head (and hand showers don't cut it IMO.) So every morning I have a steaming hot bath for 30 minutes of which the first 20 minutes are spent reading a good book* while having a cuppa. * So far I have only dropped one book in the bath

The cold water pipe is broken at the moment, so it's carrying buckets of cold water from downstairs to fill a bath:( How things have changed in India - my grandmother said that she and her brothers and sisters used to go outside and shower in the warm rain when she lived in Calcutta (Kolkatta).:-O
